Harry Rosensteel, member of one of Mount Union's oldest families, passed away in the Lewistown hospital early this Monday morning, November 13, 1939, at 1:45 o'clock. She had been in failing health for the past year, and had been a patient in the hospital for the past eighteen days, where she underwent a serious surgical operation. Friends believed she was improving, and when the news of her death came it was a distinct shock. Mrs. Rosensteel was a daughter of John and Margaret (Lewis) Himes, both deceased, and she was born at Otelia, near Mount Union, October 9, 1877, hence she was aged at the time of death 62 years, 1 month and 4 days. She was educated in the Mount Union public schools, and graduated in one of the first classes from the Mount Union High School. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Mount Union and was active in church affairs. She was affiliated with the Ladies Aid Society, the Women's Missionary Society and the Women's Bible Class. In 1894 she was united in marriage to J. Harry Rosensteel, who preceded her in death July 15, 1931. Surviving are three children: Miss Emma Rosensteel at home; Fred A. Rosensteel and Jack H. Rosensteel, both of Mount Union. Also, surviving are two grandchildren, Barbara Ann and Randall Rosensteel and the following sisters: Miss Dolly Himes, Mrs. Minnie Longacre, and Mrs. Laura J. Rorer, all of Mount Union; Mrs. Chloy Moore, of Huntingdon, and Mrs. Catherine Gifford, of El Paso, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon. Short prayer services will be held at the home, West Market street, Mount Union, at 11 o'clock. The body will then be taken to the First Methodist church, where further services will be held at 2 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. W. Willard. Interment in the I. O. O.
