All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm __________________________________________ Helen Kathleen (Foster) Saltsman Delmont Helen Kathleen Foster Saltsman, 79, of Delmont, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in Golden Living, Murrysville. She was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Huntingdon, Pa., a daughter of the late Cloyd Franklin Foster Sr. and Mabel Mae Hall. She graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1946 and Juniata College in 1950, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. While at Juniata College, she was one of two senior attendants to the May Queen Court. After graduation, she taught second grade in Huntingdon for a brief time. She was united in marriage to Robert Duane Saltsman [of Johnstown, NY] on June 9, 1951, in Huntingdon. Their first residence was in Southwestern Pennsylvania. From 1953 to 1956, they lived in Dehue, W.Va.; 1957 to 1961 in Worthington, Ohio; and 1962 to 1976 in Delmont, where she taught kindergarten for many years. After 1976, she worked in child care centers in Jeannette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Duane Saltsman Sr., in 1983; and a brother, Cloyd Foster Jr., in 1999. Kathy is survived by four sons, Robert Duane Jr., of Pottstown, Alan, of Apollo, Gary, of Ligonier, and Bruce, of New Kensington; nine grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Hickes, of Alexandria, Pa., and Ruth (Ellenberger) Mansel, of State College. No visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville, with Pastor Joann Swihart officiating. Obituary written by her son Alan Saltsman.
