Born Dec. 31, 1910, in Patton, she was the daughter of the late Albert T. and Mary Jane (Wilt) Yahner. She was united in marriage to Walter Leo Schneider Sept. 12, 1933, at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon. He preceded her in death May 2, 1986. Mrs. Schneider is survived by two daughters and one son: Marjorie R. Kean, Collary, New South Wales, Australia; Mary C. Schneider, Huntingdon; and Daniel J. Schneider, Huntingdon. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive. Also surviving are three sisters and one brother: Edith Holtz, Hastings; Corrine Parranish, Patton; Catherine Haluska, Alexandria, VA; Philip Yahner, Alexandria, VA. Mrs. Schneider was preceded in death by one son, David "Jerry" Schneider, two brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon, and the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Schneider graduated from Patton High School, Class of 1928. She was primarily a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening and embroidery. A wake service will be held at the John B. Brown Funeral Home Wednesday, March 17, at 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Sixth and Washington Streets, Huntingdon, on Thursday, March 18, at 10 a.m. with Monsignor David A. Lockard officiating. The concelebrant will be the Rev. David Arsenault. Friends may call at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, after 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 17. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in memory of Dorothy Y.
