John Shafer died at his home, No. 702 Seventh street, at 2:10 o'clock yesterday morning, following two weeks' confinement to bed from tuberculosis and a complication of diseases. He was in his 39th year. Deceased was born in Huntingdon September 17, 1875, and was a son of Rudolph and Elizabeth Shafer. He had lived in Huntingdon all his life, and until February 2 of this year he followed the occupation of bricklaying. On that day he was forced to discontinue work and his condition grew gradually worse until death ensued. Some years ago we wedded Miss Bertha Hefright, of Huntingdon, who survives with two children: Bessie May and John Jacob Shafer. His mother and one sister, Mrs. W. E. Radcliff, of Philadelphia, also survive. Funeral services will be held from the house at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. H. A. Straub officiating. Interment in Riverview cemetery.
