SHAFFER.

  Mrs. Catherine Shaffer, widow of the late Peter F. Shaffer, died at 
Calvin on Saturday morning, aged 70 years.  Deceased had been blind for 
about five years, but was cheerful and patient notwithstanding her 
great physical handicap.  Mrs. Shaffer was a consistent member of the 
Methodist Protestant church.  She was buried at Cassville on Monday. 
Three sisters survive the deceased.
