She was born in Roaring Spring on July 17, 1898, a daughter of Frank and Mary (Smith) Brown, and on July 13, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., married Alvie Lincoln Shaw, residing in Warriors Mark for the past 11 years. Surviving are her husband, six children, Kessler of Aitch, Forrest, Wayne and Dale of Warriors Mark, Wayne of Williamsport and Mrs. Algie Black of Hollidaysburg RD; 32 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters, Charles in Florida, Andrew and Ivan of Martinsburg, Mrs. Ruth Butler, Mrs. Bertha Altus, Mrs. Carl Oakes and Mrs. Estella Young, all of Roaring Spring, and Mrs. Grace Honsaker of Saratoga, N.Y. Mrs. Shaw was a member of the Dungarvin Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark, after 2 p.m. tomorrow. Altoona Mirror, March 25, 1963
