Shenefelt, with whom he has made his home all his life, died at the residence in Smithfield on Thursday night at 11:45 of hemorrhage of the lungs. Mr. Shenefelt with his brother owned and operated a large farm in Juniata township until about ten years ago when they retired and moved to Smithfield. Mr. Shenefelt was one of the valued workers of the St. James Lutheran church of this place. He was aged past sixty-nine years. Surviving are his brother John B. Shenefelt; a half brother Dorsey Shenefelt and two half sisters - Mrs. Charlotte Cole and Miss Margaret Shenefelt, all of Leigh, Nebraska. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon, services at the residence by the Rev. F. R. Wagner, with interment at McConnellstown. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday, January 28, 1919, page 9
