LOCAL AND PERSONAL.

  Our friend, W. S. Livingston, writes us from Petersburg that the 3-
year old son of W. H. and Lettie Shenk, residing near that place, died 
of scarlet fever, on the 12th inst., and that two more of their 
children are down with the disease.  Mr. John Port also has three 
children afflicted with the disease.
