PNEUMONIA CAUSES DEATH

W. H. Shingler Officially Notified of Son's Death in France.

  W. H. Shingler, of 325 Fourth avenue, yesterday received a letter from the 
war department at Washington officially notifying him of the death of his son, 
Private Charles H. Shingler, in France.  He was a victim of lobar pneumonia.
  Notice of his demise was published in the Tribune of December 13, official 
word having been received by James Bowser, with whom he boarded at Russdale, 
Huntingdon county.  He was attached to the medical department of base hospital 
No. 59 in France.
