SHONTER Charles Albert Shonter died at his home at 1126 Mifflin street on Tuesday, October 29th from the effects of influenza. Deceased was the son of Vincent S. and Mary Shonter, the former deceased, and was born in Huntingdon being aged at time of death 27 years, 3 months and 19 days. On April 11, 1917 he was united in marriage to Miss Ive C. Houpe of Shy Beaver, Huntingdon county, and since that time they have resided in Huntingdon. He was an industrious and highly respected young man and had been employed for some time in the factory of the J. C. Blair company. He was a member of the Catholic church and of the Knights of St. George, and of the Blair relief. He is survived by his wife who is also very ill at this writing, and by the following brothers and sisters: John Shonter, Victoria, wife of Clem Ties, of Jeanette; Lizzie, wife of Arnold Houpe of Greensburg; Mary, wife of Harry Thompson of Tyrone; Adolph Shonter, in the U.S. service in France; Annie, wife of N. E. Hetrick of Oneida street; Sophie, wife of Joseph Cataluci, also of Huntingdon. The funeral was conducted on Thursday at 10 a.m. by Father Tolan. Interment in Holy Cross cemetery.
