SIMPSON DIES WHILE AT WORK Matthew Lewis Simpson, of Warriors Mark R. D., and veteran of World War I, died unexpectedly Monday morning at 10 o'clock of a heart attack while working on a lumbering job near Dungarvin. He was born September 9, 1893, in Warriors Mark R.D., the son of Isaac and Susan Myrtle Keefer Simpson. He had been a lifelong resident of Warriors Mark Valley. He is survived by a brother, Ralph Simpson, Altoona, and a sister Mrs. Alverta Hanna, Bellefonte. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the Anderson-Denny Post No. 4559, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Tyrone, and the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Company of Tyrone. He was employed as a woodsman. During World War I, he served in the Medical Corps in France having enlisted July 28, 1917, going overseas June 4, 1918, and returning to the United States for honorable discharge July 26, 1919. Friends will be received at his home after 7 o'clock this evening, until the time of the funeral services Thursday at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist church at Dungarvin, in charge of the Rev. Paul E. Myers. Burial will be in Burket cemetery, Warriors Mark. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., January 17, 1950
