Widow of the late John Skeese, died at her home, 419 Moore street, Wednesday night, from internal trouble, after an illness of two months. The deceased was born in Williamsburg, Blair county, and was aged 79 years, 10 months and 20 days. For more than fifty years she had resided in Huntingdon. She was a good Christian woman, a consistent member of the Presbyterian church and to read the Bible was her delight. She was an affectionate mother, of kind disposition and soothed and comforted many an afflicted brow. She is survived by the following children: James Skeese, of St. Louis, Mo.; John, of Huntingdon; Harry, of Dayton, Ohio; George, of Altoona; Frank, of Cincinnati, O., and Mrs. Annie Slayton, of Fenton, Mich. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Dr. D. K. Freeman, on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment in Riverview cemetery. Huntingdon New Era Journal, Wednesday, October 26, 1904
