All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm __________________________________________ Franklin Campbell Skipper Avid bowler and junior league coach Franklin Campbell Skipper, 66, of 212 South Ninth St., Huntingdon, Smithfield Township, died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Lewistown Hospital, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 15, 1941, at his family home in Mapleton, he was a son of the late Howard and Eleanor (Campbell) Skipper. He was united in marriage to the former Bonnie Kathleen Dobson Aug. 8 1983, in the office of Magisterial District Judge Daniel Davis. Mrs. Skipper survives at their Smithfield Township residence. Mr. Skipper is also survived by three children, Timothy Skipper Madison and wife, Kimberly; and Barbara (Skipper) Moyer and husband, William, all of Altoona; and Douglass Skipper, at home; a stepson, Raymond Gates, Hartford, Conn.; and five grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher and Luke Moyer; and Paige and Nicholas Madison. He is also survived by a brother, William Skipper, Mill Creek. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick and Douglas; and an infant sister. Mr. Skipper was an active member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon, participating in parish activities, the church choir and the Knights of Columbus. He served four years in the United States Navy. Mr. Skipper was an avid bowler at Holiday Bowl, Mill Creek, where he was a member of the All American Pizza team and coached junior league bowlers on Saturday mornings. He was a 1959 graduate of Huntingdon High School. He retired in 2003 as a machinist for Ward Manufacturing, Manchester, Conn. Mr. Skipper was a resident of East Windsor, Conn. for 23 years, before returning to Huntingdon in November 2003. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Father David J. Arseneault officiating. Committal will be made at a later date. A Vigil for the Deceased will be held at the church at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12.
