DIED,

  On the 21 inst., of croup, Alfred Shade Smith, elder son of William 
and Leah Smith, in the 5th year of his age. This beautiful verse he 
used to sing: - 
  We are traveling to the grave,
  We are traveling to the grave my friends,
  We are traveling to the grave,
  To lay this body down.
