(Dutch) Snyder, 62, of Overbrook Aces, Mount Union, R. D., died at 12:01 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 1973, at the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been a patient for the past three weeks. Born May 31, 1911 at Spring Mills, R. D., Centre County, he was a son of Edward and Gladys (Wolf) Snyder. On October 6, 1939, he was married to Anna Trohanowsky at Broad Top City. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Gladys Hollabaugh of Mount Union, along with two grandchildren, Lindel and Edward. Mr. Snyder was the last surviving member of his immediate family, but 12 nieces and nephews remain. The deceased was of the Methodist faith and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police. For the past 10 years, he had been employed by PennDOT and Pennsylvania Department of Highways. Previously, he had worked for the state at Greenwood Furnace; the Mount Union Planing Mill; and for a number of years, he operated the Mount Union Taxi Service. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 11, at the Heath funeral home in Mount Union. The Rev. Charles Rhodes of the United Methodist Church of Fishertown will preside. Burial will be in the Mount Union IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday. The Daily News, Huntingdon, November 9, 1973
