Daily News Times 1938

     Alfred Washing Souders, 91, father of Wm. Souders of 265 South Seventh 
street, died at 10:40 a.m. Sunday in his home in Altoona. He was born in Mill 
Creek, Huntingdon County, Sept. 5, 1847, was a flagman for the Pennsylvania 
Railroad Company for many years, followed farming for some years and had been 
living in Altoona for the past eight years. He was a member of the Methodist 
Episcopal Church.
     Surviving with the son mentioned are the following other children: A. W. 
Souders of Elrama; Mrs. Mary Cuttell of West Elizabeth, Mrs. Gertrude Freeman 
of Lisbon, O., Herbert Souders of Altoona, Mrs. Catherine Auker of Alliance, 
O., Chalmer Souders of Mill Creek and Chester Souders of Altoona.
     Funeral services were to be conducted at 1 p.m. today in Mauk and Yates 
Funeral Home, Juniata, with interment in Mill Creek Cemetery.
