All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ Huntingdon Woman Dies In Florida Hospital A Huntingdon woman whose husband died in Florida of a heart attack seven weeks ago passed away early Wednesday morning in a Florida hospital. Mrs. Louisa Hall States of 1523 Washington Street, Huntingdon, expired at 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 1959, in Mease Hospital, Duneden, Fla. She had been in failing health since December, 1958. The deceased was born in Huntingdon on July 28, 1876, a daughter of Jacob and Minnie (Zilius) Hall. She was united in marriage to Andrew C. States of Huntingdon on July 9, 1896. Mr. States died unexpectedly of a heart attack in Florida on Feb. 16, 1959. Mr. and Mrs. States left Huntingdon on Jan. 12, 1959 for Florida to visit their son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. Lynn Rankin of Clearwater, Fla. Mrs. States was seriously ill at the time of her husband's passing. The Huntingdon woman was a member of the Fifteenth Street Methodist Church for many years. She taught in the Beginner's Department of the church Sunday School for many years. She was a former member of the Huntingdon Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by the following six children: Mrs. Pearl Norris, Drexel Hill; Mrs. M. C. (May) Martin, Alexandria; Mrs. Lynn (Lillian) Rankin, Clearwater, Fla.; Mrs. Ray (Mildred) Gibbs, Largo, Fla.; Donald States, Mount Union and Mrs. John (Betty) Bell, Arlington, Va. She also is survived by eight grandchildren and the following sisters: Mrs. Cloyd Foster, Mrs. Ida Minsker, Mrs. Elsie Kylor, all of Huntingdon; Mrs. Margaret Goodman, Altoona, Mrs. Catherine Burris and Mrs. Mame Doede, both of Harrisburg Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Brown's funeral home in Huntingdon. The Rev. Ferdinand Derk will officiate and interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. Friday.
