States died at his home at McConnellstown, Friday, May 6th, 1927, of diseases incident to old age. He was born at that place August 15, 1841, and has resided there his entire life. At the out-break of the Civil War he enlisted in the 125th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry and later in Battery D., first light artillery and was mustered out of the service at Harpers Ferry, June 21, 1865. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Edwards who died twenty-one years ago. The deceased is survived by the following children: A. H. States, McConnellstown; Annie Stratford, Harrisburg; Mary Hancock, Lewistown; Gertrude Harpster, Lewistown; E.G. States, at home, and also thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the late home in McConnellstown with interment in the McConnellstown cemetery. The Daily News, Saturday, May 7, 1927 Note: William L.
