Mr. Steffey was a man respected by all who knew him for his kindness of heart, always ready to help his fellow man. When the war broke out, Mr. Steffey volunteered his services and enlisted in Company B, Forty-ninth regiment, and served until the close of the war, when he was honorably discharged. Mr. Steffey leaves to mourn his loss his wife and son, William, at home, and Mrs. Cora Riber, Mrs. Gertrude Cronover and son, Howard all of Newark, N.J., and one brother S. M. Steffey of Huntingdon, Pa. E. E. Blair and wife of East Altoona, O. L. Weaver and wife, Mrs. J. H. Lytle and William W. Steffey of Bellwood, attended the funeral, Mr.Steffey being an uncle.
