Warren Stewart, one of Birmingham's best known and most prominent residents, died at his home there at 3 o'clock Saturday morning, following an illness from heart trouble and Bright's disease. Deceased was born in Birmingham May 10, 1854, and lived there practically all his life. In his younger days he was employed at the lead works nearby, was later a quarryman and at the time of his death was employed as a track laborer by the Pennsylvania Railroad company. Mr. Stewart held the office of borough treasurer, tax collector, health officer and borough policeman for many years. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Some years after the death of his first wife (who was Elizabeth Waite) he again married, taking as his bride Mrs. Peter Talon, who survives with five children: Harrison Stewart, of Altoona; Mrs. J. W. Sheppard, of Birmingham; Mrs. J. W. Shamp, of East Altoona; Mrs. Chalmers Smith, of Altoona, and Mrs. Ernest Milton, of Port Matilda. Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Sherman. Interment in Birmingham cemetery.
