Stewart received a telegram yesterday morning announcing the death of his mother, Mrs. Rebecca Stewart, on Saturday evening, near Manor Hill, Huntingdon county. Mrs. Stewart for the past year had resided in this place with her son. Week before last she decided to make a visit to relatives and friends in Huntingdon county. She was in the enjoyment of good health until a few days ago, when she was stricken with paralysis and died after an illness of three days at the age of 74 years. The widow of James Stewart, deceased, she was the mother of three sons, who survive to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate parent: Rev. O. M. Stewart, of Kansas City, Mo.; John M. Stewart, of Manor Hill, and W. B. Stewart, of this place. Mrs. Stewart was an earnest and devoted Christian woman, having connected herself with the Methodist Episcopal church more than fifty years ago, of which denomination she was a consistent member until death.
