Born Nov. 6, 1919 in Dunbar, she was a daughter of the late William P. and Mary Jane Work Russell. On Dec. 30, 1942, she married Elwood C. "Alex" Strouse, who died on Oct. 18, 1991. She was a 1941 graduate of Beaver College, now Arcadia University. She worked for Alcoa and Penn State from 1957 to 1984. She was a member of Sinking Valley Presbyterian Church and was a former member and Elder of the State College Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Cavallucci and her husband, Gene, of West Melbourne, Fla. and Dana Edwards of Falls Church, Va.; two sons, William Strouse and his wife Janet of Warriors Mark and Joseph Strouse and his wife Nancy of West Springfield, Mass.; a sister, Ruth Krider of Kittaning; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton, State College. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with the Reverend Barry Vance officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
