All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ Isabella "Belle" Palmer Taylor We were made to feel sad and to deeply sympathize with the family of our friend Mr. James Palmer, who lately received the sad intelligence of the death of their daughter, Mrs. Belle Taylor, wife of Henry Taylor, who died near Cassville, May 7, 1883, aged 35 years, 9 months, and 11 days. Mrs. Taylor was the only daughter in a family of four children [James and Barbara Palmer had seven children total, three died in infancy]. The two older sons reside in Keokuk, Iowa [George Ambrose Palmer & Robert Bruce Palmer], and the younger [David Newton Palmer] at home with his parents. For the past few years Mrs. Taylor's health has been such as to render her unable to perform but little bodily labor, yet she was constantly working for the Master, setting her house in order, and preparing for the change that she knew was fast approaching and for which she was ready and waiting. She said she wanted to die and be with her Savior, although she sometimes felt a regret at the thought of her little children, who five in number, must so soon realize the loss of a good mother. But with full confidence in Him who said, "I will be a Father to the fatherless," she submissively said "Thy will be done."
