On Monday last, Tom, a coloured man belonging to Alexander McConnell, Eqs., of this place. His death was produced by a wound in the foot occasioned by a Nail he had tramped upon, which brought on the Lock- Jaw, and terminated his existence. This, with a number of similar cases which frequently occur, ought to excite persons who receive injury from rusted Nails etc. to attend to keeping the wound open, and apply powerful Medicine to it. Lye poultices are deemed beneficial in cases of this kind. Huntingdon Gazette, Huntingdon, Pa., Thursday, November 21, 1816
