Waite, after a lingering illness from heart trouble increased by the infirmities of age, died at her home in Warriorsmark valley Tuesday morning at 9.30. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Keith. She was born at Spruce Creek, March 14, 1821, and at death was aged 71 years, 10 months and 10 days. She was married to Mr. Waite November 28, 1842 at Spruce Creek. Since their marriage this worthy couple had been continuously residents of Warriorsmark valley. Mrs. Waite was a consistent member of and faithful attendant at the Methodist Episcopal church at Warriorsmark. Although domestic in her habits she enjoyed a large circle of friends and acquaintances, and her home was ever made free and hospitably open to all. She was a loving, affectionate and dutiful helpmate, a kind and indulgent mother and a Christian woman. The greater loss will be felt at the hearthstone and in the home which she ever made pleasant, and will also extend largely into the surroundings where her many virtues were known. Surviving are her husband, six sons and two daughters, to whom the heartfelt sympathy of the community goes out in this time of bereavement. The surviving children are: Theodore, at Water street; Andrew A. K., at home; Mary, wife of Jacob H. Mattern, at Warriorsmark; Hayes H., attorney-at-law, Huntingdon; George C., insurance agent, Tyrone; S. Blair, farmer, Franklin township, Huntingdon county; Joseph L., Krider, Huntingdon county, and Lillie, wife of Scott Buck, of Warriorsmark valley. One son, Alvin B. preceded his mother to the tomb.
