Mr. Daniel Weight, of McConnellstown, employed as a track hand on the H. & B.T.R.R., died in this city about 8 o'clock on Sunday morning, from injuries received the previous evening in the vicinity of the "Broad Top Cut," on the opposite side of the river. The unfortunate man was crawling under a car that was standing on the track, when a shift of cars came down the track causing the car under which he was crawling to move. He was caught under the wheels, and when picked up it was discovered that his left leg and arm were terribly mangled, and that a hole had been torn in his back. He was brought over the river and taken to the P.R.R. hospital and medical aid quickly summoned, but his injuries were of such a nature that there was no possibility of saving his life, and he died at the hour stated. His remains were prepared for burial, and on Sunday afternoon were taken to his late home by special train, where his wife and four children sadly received them. Deceased was aged about 35 years.
