Weight, a very highly respected lady of Three Springs, departed this life on Saturday, June 16th, 1907. One year ago she suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never fully recovered. Recently she suffered another and gradually sank until the end. Her seven children all hastened to her bedside and lovingly and faithfully administered to her wants. Mrs. Weight will be missed, as a very helpful life to everyone was hers. She died as she lived for more than 40 years was a lover of Jesus and believed that "he doeth all things well". And although her immediate family are in great sorrow they are somewhat comforted by her good life and mourn not as those without hope. She is survived by her husband Henry Weight who deeply feels the loss of his earthly companion, also by two brothers Theodore and Henry Morgan of Blacklog Valley, Mrs. Ada Haverstine of Tyrone and these children: Mrs. Bert Johns, Vira, Pa; Mrs. Russel Smyers of Mount Union; Clay and Lorraine of Pitcairn; Mattie of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Bertha and Berlin at home. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. L. W. Forrest in the M.E. church of which she was a consistent member. Her pastor dwelt on her beautiful and helpful life and her willingness to lend a helping hand to friends in time of sickness and death. Rev. McCloud, of the U.B. church assisted in the service. The choir very effectively rendered "Mother's Prayer" and "Jesus knows and cares" and her pastor sang "When I stand on the streets --?-- scene was her daughters after leave had been taken of her in church, tucking a beautiful robe over her and as her expression of face was so peaceful she only seemed to be preparing for sleep. Mrs. Weight was aged 63 years, 6 months and 10 days. Rest in peace. Mapleton Item, Wednesday, June 26, 1907
