Whitsel Alda Margaret Whitsel, 81, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, and formerly of HC 60, Orbisonia, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Woodland. Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with Pastor Rick Eminhizer officiating. Interment was made at Haven Rest Memorial Park, RD Shirleysburg. Born April 24, 1920, in Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Eva (Colledge) Boozel. She was married to Paul R. Whitsel on Sept. 4, 1937, at McVeytown. Mr. Whitsel preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1972. She is survived by four sons and one daughter: Paul E. Whitsel of Stephenville, Texas, Theodore J. Whitsel of RD Three Springs, Ronald L. Whitsel of HC 60 Orbisonia, Patricia M. Berrier of HC 60 Orbisonia and Gregory M. Whitsel of HC 60 Orbisonia. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. One grandson is deceased. Mrs. Whitsel is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Theodore Boozel and Evelyn Horn, both of Mount Union, Jenny Lauver of York, Russell Boozel of Hershey and Dorothy Lok of Sacramento, Calif. She was of the Methodist faith. Primarily a homemaker during her life, she enjoyed baking, gardening and her pets. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, PA, February 6, 2002
