Whitsel, 62, of Orbisonia, died at 8:36 am Friday, June 3, 2005, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Funeral services were held June 6 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with Rev. Nancy Rogers officiating. Interment was made at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace. Born April 24, 1943, at Orbisonia, he was a son of the late Harvey N. Whitsel and Kathryn S. (Snelfer) Whitsel, who survives of Huntingdon. Also surviving is a companion of 38 years, Betty M. Ramsey, at their home; and following children; James H. Whitsel Jr. and his wife Kelly of Blairs Mills; Norman J. Whitsel of Orbisonia; Cathy Whitsel, Dennis Whitsel, Randy Whitsel and Danny Whitsel, all of Lewistown. Mr. Whitsel is also survived by two grandchildren; one brother, Charles Whitsel of HCR 60 Orbisonia; and one sister, Jean Ramsey of Burnt Cabins. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael, and one brother, Duane Whitsel. Mr. Whitsel was employed by North American Refractories, Mount Union, for 24 years.
