Wilson, 90, formerly of Mapleton, died at 5:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, at Woodland Retirment Center, Orbisonia. Born Aug, 10 1912, in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late F. Roy and Mildred Snyder Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a Methodist. He retired in 1974 from J&L Steel Inc., Alliquippa, after 20 years of service. Prior to that, he was employed at Harbison-Walker Refractories, Mount Union, for 13 years. His Wife, Iva J. Rutter Wilson, died on May 26, 1982. Surviving are two sons, Carl of Mapleton and Ronald of Calvin; three daughters Darlene Hockenberry of Mount Union, Janet Nead of Mapleton and Linda North of Orbisonia; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters Florence Brown of Mount Union and Margaret Gilbert of St. Petersburg, Fla; and three brothers, McClellan of Mount Union, Wilbur of Greencastle, and Elmer of Vero Beach, Fla. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Morgan; and three sisters, Anna Booher, Lula Wilson, and Catherine Danish. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. The Rev. Gordon Ross will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Nebo Cemetery, RD, Mount Union.
