Mr. Zilius was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad conductor. Mr. Zilius was born in Huntingdon on July 19, 1875 and was aged 70 years, 3 months and 27 days. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at Brown's funeral home. The body may be viewed at the funeral home until the hour of the service. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Huntingdon Daily News, November 17, 1945 Contributor's Notes: In 1940, an article in The Daily News of Huntingdon, PA, reported that John Zilius, a conductor, injured his left hand when it was crushed between two railroad cars. It was injured so badly that his hand had to be amputated. The obituary fails to mention that he was survived by his two children: Charles E., and Blanche. He was also survived by his wife, the former Grace Renninger, who died on September 8, 1976.
