A very pretty church wedding took place Saturday evening in the First Methodist church when Miss Nellie A. Norris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Norris, of Saltillo, was united in marriage to Mr. Harry Harper Bell, second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Bell, of west Penn Street. Promptly at 7 o'clock the bridal couple, attended by Mr. Andrew G. Bell, a brother of the groom and Miss Jennie Kline, passed up the aisle of the church to the strains of the wedding march, Lohengrin, played by Mr. Frank B. Patton. At the altar the pastor, the Rev. J. Harper Black, D.D., using the impressive ceremony of the Methodist ritual, spoke the words, forming the tie that binds. Over one hundred invited guests witnessed the ceremony. The bridal party retired from the church to the strains of the Mendelssohn's wedding march and repaired to their newly furnished home at 618 Penn street. The bride is one of Huntingdon's accomplished young ladies and was for a number of years, one of Wm. Reed & Sons' efficient clerks. The groom is an industrious young man, worthy of the love and affection of his young bride. On Monday night the Huntingdon band put the finishing touches to the Bell- Norris wedding and turning out in full numbers, collected in front of the young couple's cozy home and filled the breezes with sweet melodies from their instruments. The serenade had the desired effect after several selections were played. New Era Journal, Wednesday, October 19, 1904
