Mr. Gilbert Bernstein, of the wholesale grocery firm of Wittenberg & Bernstein, of Philadelphia, and Miss Minnie Greenberg, youngest daughter of Mr. Henry Greenberg, of this city, were betrothed on Sunday evening according to Hebrew custom. Quite a large number of the friends of the high contracting parties assembled at the residence of the prospective bride's parents and spent a pleasant and enjoyable evening. Miss Greenberg is one of Huntingdon's most highly respected young ladies, while Mr. Bernstein is one of Philadelphia's prosperous and rising young merchants. Mr. Gilbert Bernstein, of Philadelphia, and Miss Minnie Greenberg, of this city, were married at the residence of the bride's sister, Mrs. Morris Weirnik, on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock, and the ceremony, which was conducted according to the rites and customs of the Jewish church, was witnessed by a large and brilliant company. Rev. Dr. Victor Cairo, of the Crown Street Temple, of Philadelphia, officiated. The happy young couple left the same evening for a tour of the South. The Journal extends its warmest congratulations.
