A very pretty wedding occurred here last Thursday evening at the home of Dr. C. A. Harnish, when his sister, Miss Lettie, became the wife of Mr. Benjamin Neff, of Alexandria. Rev. Mr. Stewart, of the Alexandria Presbyterian church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Rev. Frederick Rupley, of the Reformed church. The bridal party consisted of Rev. W. Harnish, brother of the bride; Dr. E. Nell, brother of the groom, and Misses Sarah and Anna Harnish, sisters of the bride. The bride wore a gown of muslin de soie, trimmed with lace and ribbons. Her veil was gracefully caught up with bride's roses. She carried a large boquet of the same flowers. The house was beautifully decorated with chrysanthemums and ferns. Soon after the ceremony the callithumpian band, composed of small boys, put in its appearance and made the night hideous until silenced by the Alexandria Cornet band, which rendered several beautiful selections that were highly appreciated by the guests. Amid showers of rice the happy couple departed in a carriage decorated with old shoes, for a brief honeymoon at Niagara Falls. Many valuable and useful presents were received. About seventy guests were present. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Wednesday, November 1, 1899
