LOCAL AND PERSONAL.

  On Tuesday afternoon of last week, in the Presbyterian church at 
Tyrone, Mr. L. M. Speer, of Pittsburgh, Superintendent of the Speer 
White Sand Company at Mapleton, this county, and Miss Claudia E. 
Parkes, one of Tyrone's fairest daughters, were married in the presence 
of an audience that literally packed the auditorium and gallery.  Mr. 
Frederick Rosenberg, of this city, officiated as one of the groomsmen.  
The bridal party started the same evening on an extended wedding tour, 
at the close of which they will come to Huntingdon and make their home 
until some time next spring or summer, when a residence will be built 
for them at Huntingdon.
