James Duncan of Huntingdon County: considering the uncertainty of life and having a desire to settle my (?) affairs being now of sound mind and memory do publish this my last will and testament. It is my desire that after my decease my body may be interred in a (?) manner, my (?) expenses as well as my just debts to be paid out of my personal estate if not sufficient then out of my real estate. First I give and bequeath to my beloved son James, and his heirs forever, all my estate real and personal and mixed of whatever I was posessed of at my decease, subject to the following legacies. It is my desire that my said son James shall pay in cash at my decease to my grandchild John Miller twenty-five dollars, also to his sister Mary Ensey twenty-five dollars. I leave to my son Daniel one dollar, to my first daughter Ann Forshea one dollar, to my second daughter Catherine Brubaker one dollar. In the payment and observance of all the above I hereby appoint my said son James sole executor of this my last will and testament (voiding?) all wills heretofore made or declared by me. Signed and sealed in presence of us this eighth day of January AD 1831 William Forris, Alexander Newell his James X Duncan mark Memorandum Letters Testimony were this day granted to James Duncan executor of the last will and testament of James Duncan late of (?) Township deceased. Inventory to be exhibited within one month and a just and true account calculation and reckoning of his said administration within one year.
