All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ Source: Will Written: May 14, 1814 Recorded: March 28, 1817 Last will and testament of James Johnston deceased In the name of God amen on the fourteenth day of May in the year of our Lord 1814 I James Johnston being very sick and wake in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament principley and first of all I give recommend my soul into the hands of god that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the earth to buried in a christian like and decent maner at the discetion of my executor not doubting but that I shall receive the same again by the might power of God and as tutching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form to witt I do leave and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Margaret Johnston my sleeping room and bed during her life and I alow my wife to be suported in a proper maner with virtualy cloathing and such other nesaceries and privileges in my house as may be proper for her comfort during her life and I do leave and bequeath to my well beloved daughter Jenent Jackson and her heirs all my tract of land situate in sinking valley and where Thomas Jackson now lives and joining the Cano mountain. And I do leave and bequeath to my well beloved son Adam Johnston five pounds pr yearly and every year when do manded the same to be paid to said Adam discreing Martha thirty dollars and I do leave and bequeath to my Grandaughter Ann Beaver to be paid to her when she arives at age the sum of two hundred pounds. And I leave and bequeath all the residue of my estate bothe reale and personal to my well beloved son Samuel Johnston to be free by proposed and enjoyed by him and under the above incumberance. And I do constitute make and ordain Doctor Peter Swine and the said Samuel Johnston be my whole and sole executors of this my last will and Testament and I utterly disallow revoke and disanual all and every other testaments wills and legacies requests and executors named willed and bequeathed by me before this time retifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto seth my hand and seal the day and year above written.
