Item first, I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid out of my estate. Item 2nd, I bequeath to the Presbyterian board of Home Mission to be used in mission in Alaska the sum of One Hundred Dollars; To the same Board of Home Missions to be expanded in mission work among the freedom of the south the sum of One Hundred Dollars; To the same Board of Home Missions to be expanded in mission work among the poor white population of the south the sum of One Hundred Dollars. Item 3rd, I give and bequeath to my niece Emma Kinner of Mifflin County, Penna., all of the furniture and carpet in my room at my home. Item 4, All of the residue of my estate both real and personal, I give devise and bequeath to the following named persons share and share alike to wit: Mrs. Mary Adams, Mrs. Anna Ingram, Mrs. Frances Obdyke, Mrs. Jane Caldwell, Mrs. Blanche McChesney (daughter of my sister Mrs. Eberts), Miss Mabel McPherran, of Sterling, Illinois, Mrs. Florence Budget and Mrs. Maud Cooper, daughter of my brother Robert McPherran, Miss Eliza Beck, Mrs. Annie West and Mrs. Leah West daughter of my sister Elizabeth Beck, Miss Emma Kinner and Mrs. Elizabeth McCarthy, daughter of my sister Mrs. Mary Kinner of Mifflin County, Pa., Mrs. Leah Betz of Spokane, Washington daughter of my Brother Andrew McPherran, Mrs. Amanda Flenner daughter of my sister Mrs. Jane Mattern, and the son and daughter of my brother A. S. McPherran by his first wife. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth (14th) day of April A. D. Campbell Codicil to the last Will of Rebecca McPherran I Rebecca McPherran the within named testator do hereby make and publish this codicil to be added to my last Will and Testament above dated April 14th A.D. 1896 in manner following: Whereas my said will I bequeath to my niece Mabel McPherran of Sterling, Illinois a share of the residue of my estate (see Item 4th) I do now revoke said bequest and instead bequeath to my brother James E. McPherran of Sterling, Ill., a share in the residue of my real estate equal in amount to that received by the other legatees named in Item fourth aforesaid. I appoint my niece Frances Obdyke of Tyrone, Penna, Executrix of my last Will and Testament and Trustee of Samuel H. McPherran son of my brother A. S. McPherran as to his share in my estate according to Item fourth. I direct my said Executrix to sell my watch and chain, my sewing machine, side saddle and Chataquaw Books and to said the proceeds thereof to Rev. A. C. Austin Haonah, Alaska to be used by him for educational purposes in the school at the place. I direct my executor to sell my real estate as soon after my death as she might deem it best to do so. Before me Register for the probate of Wills and granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of Huntingdon, personally appeared Frances E. Obdyke who being duly sworn doth depose and say that Rebecca McPherran late of Spruce Creek Township died on or about the 6th day of October 1897 at 8 o'clock A.M. to the best of her knowledge and belief. Godard Register for the probate of Wills and granting letters of Administration in and for the County of Huntingdon, personally appeared same A. H. McCamant and G. A. Crawford who being duly sworn do depose and say that they are well acquainted with the handwriting of J. B. Campbell one of the subscribing witnesses to the Will of Rebecca McPherran hereto named that they have carefully examined the signature and proper handwriting of said witness and that they are informed and believe that said J. B. Campbell is now located in the City of Pittsburg and outside of the jurisdiction of the Register Office of said County. /s/Andrew H. McCamant /s/G.A. McCamant the subscribing witnesses to the above Will and Codicil being duly sworn according to law did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard Rebecca McPherran sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for her Testament and last Will and that at the time of so doing she the said Testator was of perfect and sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
