All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ Orphans Court Docket D: File U - No. 214, P. 182, November Term 1834, Huntingdon County, Pa Written: November 1834 The Petition of Joseph Rupe one of the sons and heirs of Fredrick Rupe late of Hopewell township desd was read setting forthe, That the Petitioner said father lately died intestate leaving a widow, named Elizabeth Rupe, and ??? thirteen children to wit, Jacob Rupe, who lived in Seneca County in the State of Ohio, Elizabeth intermarried with William Lingafelter residing in the same county and State, Susanna intermarried with William Dickey supposed to reside in Ohio, Mary intermarried with Samuel Elder residing in Huntingdon County, Eve intermarried with Jacob Shultz residing in the same county. Sarah intermarried with John Frazier residing in Bedford Co. Frederick Rupe residing in Seneca County Ohio, John Rupe residing in same county and state, Joseph the Petitioner, Catherine, Rachel intermarried with Andrew Zimmerman, Amos, Samuel are residing in Huntingdon County aforesaid, the last of who is under twenty one years of age. And that the said Intestate died seized in his demisne nd/ad? of fee, of ?? in a certain tract of lands situate in Hopewell township, near T/Gatmans Gap adjoining lands of James Entrikin Esq. The mountain surveys containing two hundred and thirty six acres and ten perches, be the same more or less. Thereon erected a two story hewed log house, a good hewed log shop, one story high, a ??? shop one story high, a cabin barn, about one hundred and fifteen acres cleared thereon, eight of which is meadow, also an orchard thereon & pray??? for an Inquest to make partition or valuation of the same agreeably to the intestate laws of the Commonwealth. Whereupon 17th November 1834, the ?? award an Inquest agreeable to the prayer of the said Petitioner. Note: the land and buildings were later sold to James Entrikin for $630.00.
