All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ Source: Huntingdon County Will Book 3, page 419 Written: October 1, 1833 Last Will & Testament of Christian Young In the name of God, Amen, I, Christian Young of the Township of Allegany in the county of Huntingdon and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, being well aware of the uncertainty of life and the mortality of the soul do make this instrument of writing as and for my last Will & testament in manner & form following viz: I recommend my soul to the Almighty God who gave it hoping mercy through Jesus Christ his son; and that I be buried in a decent and a Christian like manner; and, all my just debts and funeral expenses be justly paid. 1st. I bequeath to my beloved wife Jane Young the one third of my personal estate, together with the room in the house where I now lay, and the kitchen attached to the house for the term of two years after my death. 2nd, I bequeath to the heirs of my daughter Nancy who was married to Robert Anderson, and since dead, the sum of two dollars. 3rd. I bequeath to my sons Joseph, Curtis, John, & Samuel each the Sum of thirty dollars. Further it is my will that my real estate be rented to the best advantage for the term of two years after my death; and that the one third of the rents arising there from (after paying for all necessary repairs, such as making fences, sprouting fence rows, and other necessary repairs, which is my desire to be done) shall be paid to my wife Jane, at which time I wish my real estate to be sold to the highest bider and the one third of the purchase money to remain a lien on said real estate, and the interest thereof to be anually paid to my wife Jane during her natural life time, and the remainder of my real and personal estate I wish to be divided between my sons Joseph, Curtis, John,& Samuel, and Rebecca intermarried with Philip Hileman, and Susanah intermarried with John Andrew. I also appoint my sons Joseph Young and John Young Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In Witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, the first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three. N.B. The legacys bequeathed to my wife Jane Young is to be considered in place of dower.
