On August 9, 1841 the Federal Party of Indiana County nominated John
McEwen for the State House, David Ralston for Sheriff, Robert Craig for
Prothonotary, William McClaran for Register & Recorder, and Thomas
Stewart for Commissioner. The election returns were as follows:
