Armstrong Twp., Indiana Co., PA. Generation No. 3 3. JONATHON3 MILLER (JAMES2, SAMUEL1) was born 1825 in Centre Co., PA, and died in Armstrong Twp., Indiana Co., PA. He married ADELINE TUCKER, daughter of WILLIAM TUCKER and PHEBE CAMPFIELD. Notes for JONATHON MILLER: 1880 Census: Conemaugh Twp., name Johnson Miller. age 55, both parents born in Pa., Farmer. HISTORY OF INDIANA COUNTY, PA 1745-1880: Johnston Miller was born in 1825, near Potter's Fort, Centre County, and was a son of James and Hannah Miller nee McCloskey. Our subject came to Indiana County, in 1851. Abraham Pierce made the first improvement on the Miller farm. Johnston Miller located upon it in 1862. He married MARGARET ELIZABETH ELGIN September 28, 1876, daughter of JOSEPH ELGIN and MARGARET RANKIN. Notes for WILLIAM TUCKER MILLER: On a delayed birth certificate of his daughter, Eunice, he is called a veterinary surgeon. Children of WILLIAM MILLER and MARGARET ELGIN are: i. EUNICE MARGARET5 MILLER, b. October 28, 1884, Plumville, Armstrong Co., PA.; d. January 24, 1963, Warren, Ohio - Trumbull Co.; m. HUGH LINCOLN JONES, August 16, 1919, WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA. Notes for EUNICE MARGARET MILLER: Delayed birth certificate on 1/22/43. File #665, County of Indiana Taught school (2nd grade) in Apollo, Jeanette, Turtlecreek, and Wilkinsburg, PA. for 17 years, until married. She died in Warren, OH and was buried beside her husband in Saltsburg, PA Notes for HUGH LINCOLN JONES: Pvt. 1st class, Hqt. Co. 151 Field Artillery 42nd division, Called Rainbow Div. Fought in Argonne and Meuse Sept 25-Nov 11, 1918. Army of occupation in Germany afterwards. Discharge (WWI) 4/26/1919 #1854975 - American Legion member #823767 - Social Security #193-09-4903. Occupation before service listed on discharge as assistant foreman. The first page in the Funeral sign-in book states: Hugh Lincoln Jones, Tunnelton, PA, June 14, 1889, Departed this life September 23, 1938, Vandergrift, PA. Interment: Saltsburg, PA, September 26, 1938, Lot 201, Edgewood Cemetery. Pall Bearers: Glen English, L H. Porter, Sam Russell, Harry Strobel, Harry Murphy, William McInnes. 23 pages of visitors. ii.
