Enclosed with a tintype of her. She was living in Marion Center (called Marion at the time, and Brady was the Post office at the time), and Albert was working in Johnstown. Also mentioned are: Frank GRIFFITH Bruce GRIFFITH Gus and Lotty SITTLER Ed and Marry DODSON D. HALL Dear Albert, I received your letter yesterday. We are all well but Charley C[?] is not well. I made him go to the Dr. and get some mede- cine. He has such a cough and is so weak. We supposed you would go to Johnstown Sudnay. It's a wonder we Didn't see some of the Ma- rion folks. Half of the people around here were all went across the country. It was a dreadful thing. I was glad to get papers for we couldn't get any here. They are sending a large boat from here today. I don't know who got it up. They didn't ask (p.2) me to give anything. We can't get any word from Unkle Billey's girls. Three of them Lived in Conemaugh, Lena, Jessie and Lissie. Charles And Frank Griffith were Down but couldn't get Over there. Bruce G-- got Away with [can't read] but Lost all property and every Thing distroyed in there and They lived in [?] Griffiths Sayd they were glad to Get the leaving [?] in ther Baskets. Gus and Lotty Sittler was drowned that Is the word that came here Ed & Marry and Dodsons D Hall are going the first of the Week. If I could, I would like To go along. It is so cold We have to keep up a fire (p. 3) all the time. The corn is just comeing up it don't seem very thick. I suppos- e it'll rot it is so wet all the time. There is a Sunday School Communion there to Day and tomorrow. I am To bake a double and I got Some things at the store Will have to pay for these Next week. So please send Us what money you can Spare for us for we'll have to Get coal and flour. You might have found A fortune in Johnstown If you had looked. Bruce Griffith found two thousand Dollars on his lot in a Trunk but did not keep it And Brady Kinter saw a man find a little dram (p. 4) and in a B--- [?] just packed with greenbacks I think it would seem Like robbing the dead to Take any of it. Frank Griffith brought home Some things he found He came nearly getting a Web of black silk. Well We are all very lonesome With out you. I wish You were here or we were There. Sunday is always The worst with me. You write Very short letters. Well, I am to Close this as this might go today With love and a kiss from Myself and children too I send This.
