Irvin Gardner. a minor under 21 years, should be committed to Rennsylvania Reform School by reason of vagrancy, incorrigibility & vicious conduct. Mother incapable of control and discipline. George Frederic of Homer City testified that Irvin's mother was a widow and had no control over him. He was running all over the county annoying the community. Deponent had to reach his shop one Sabbath Day not long since for he was sure he would burn it down. B.B. McConnaughey of Homer City testified that Irvin would not stay any place he was put, that he is running from place to place committing misdeeds and annoying the community. His mother is a widow and unable to control him. Additional Comments: Accompanying notes from Pennsylvania Reform School: Irvin Gardner. No. 5713, Division B. Father dead; mother Mrs. Clara Gardner, living at Brush Valley, Indiana Co. and keeps house for McLain Orr. Sent here for running away from home and annoying the neighbors. Description: Height 4'7 1/2", dark brown hair and eyes, dark complexion, scar below right eye, two scars on right cheek, large scar on abdomen from burn. Age 13; born Penna.; parentage, American; attends Presbyterian Church; mother not intemprate; 1 younger brother, 1 younger sister; can read & write; lies, swears & steals; does not use tobacco; is not intemperate; has been arrested before.
