Brown buwbrown@comcast.net July 25, 2008, 1:53 pm Complaint made before R.J. Hood, Justice of the Peace of Indiana County, by John C. Stevens of Huff Post Office, father of Sarah B. Stevens, born June 19, 1888. His daughter, Sarah B. Stevens, has on several occasions run away from me. She has slipped away in the evening and stayed out with boys nearly all night and at the present time she is under arrest in Johnstown, Pa., where she has gone on several occasions. Wm. R. Johns of Huff deposes that he has seen Sarah B. Stevens out at night and her father in search of her many times. Mrs. Annie Cleave Huff has known Sarah's father John C. Stevens to be hunting for her until nearly midnight. Additional Comments: Notes made upon the girl's arrival at the Pennsylvania Reform School at Morganza: Sarah B. Stevens. Father, John C. Stevens an invalid and lives at Curtissville, Indiana Co. Sent here for associating with bad company & staying out all night. Description: Height 5', weight 110 pounds. Dark brown hair and eyes. Mole on left cheek. Age: 18 on Jan. 19, 1900; received July 17, 1900. Born Penna., American parentage. Church: UB. Father intemperate. Mother not intemperate. Parents own property. 6 older brothers, 1 younger brother, 2 older sisters. Can read & write. Does not swear, lie, steal, use tobacco. Is not intemperate. Has not been arrested before.
