Dear Madam,  	



You are advised that it appears from the papers in the Revolutionary War 

pension claim WS 2128, that John Kinter was born May 15, 1755.

	While a resident of Upper Paxton Township, Lancaster County, 

Pennsylvania, he enlisted in 1777, served two months as a private in Captain 

James Clarke's Company, Colonel Robert Elder's & Bull's Pennsylvania Regiment.

	He enlisted in December, 1778, and served two months as private in 

Captain Jonathan McClure's Pennsylvania Company.

	He enlisted in October, 1779, served three weeks in Captain Smith's 

Pennsylvania Company; then enlisted in July, 1780 and served six weeks as 

private in Captain Johnston's Pennsylvania Company, this six weeks as a 

substitute for his brother, Peter.  

	He was allowed pension on his application executed March 25, 1833, 

while a resident of Huntingdon Township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.

	He died April 29, 1836, in said township.

	Soldier married is August, 1836, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 

Isabella Fendley (?) or Handley (?).  She was allowed pension on her 

application executed June 9, 1848, while a resident of Rayne Township, 

(formerly Washington Township), Indiana County, Pennsylvania, aged eighty-two 

years.

	They had nine children.  John, born about 1785; Peter, born about 

1800; Henry; Margaret & Catharine are the only names given.

	The War of 1812 records of this bureau do not show that a claim for 

pension was ever made on account of the services of Henry Kinter.
