(Ebensburg, Pa.) 1867-1938: August 24, 1871 August 12, 1871 James G. Roland, of West Mahoning township, Indiana county, committed suicide, on the 12th inst., by hanging himself with a check chain. It is supposed the rash act was committed whilst the deceased was laboring under a temporary fit of insanity caused be financial embarrassment. The unfortunate man was a full cousin of Samuel Jordan who recently killed his wife in Jefferson county. He was 22 years old and leaves a young wife.
