The Indiana Gazette Sat, Dec 08, 1962 
Mrs. Sara Henry Altemus, aged 62 years, widow of David Altemus, passed away
Thursday, December 6, 1962, in the Indiana Hospital. She was a daughter of Simon
B. and Ada C. Bence Henry and was born January 29, 1900 in Cherryhill Township,
Indiana County. Mrs. Altemus spent almost all of her life in Indiana and was a
member of the Golden Age Club. Her survivors are three sisters: Mrs. Ernest
(Edith) Shields of Indiana; Mrs. John (Olive) Ellis of Indiana R. D. 4; Mrs. Ada
Henry of Johnstown. There are also a number of nieces and nephews surviving.
Friends may pay their respect today (Saturday) between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. at Robinson - Lytle's in Indiana where the Rev. Merle E. Porter will
conduct services for her on Sunday, December 9, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be
made in the Oakland Cemetery.
