Mrs. Vernie E. Gess Armstrong of Black Lick Township, Indiana County, died
Sunday in Indiana Hospital. Born Oct. 10, 1880, in Livermore, Indiana County.
Daughter of late William and Rebecca Hayes Gess. Preceded in death by husband,
Robert L., in 1963. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Gere (Maggie Bell) Clawson of
Blairsville R. D. 2; three grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Earl (Elizabeth) Hewitt
Sr. of Indiana. Friends received after 7 p.m. today, Ferguson Funeral Home,
Blairsville. Services there 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. George Krupp. Interment
Blairsville Cemetery.
