(Pittsburgh, Pa.): July 27, 1864 Died on the 3d of June, at the residence of his father, in West Mahoning Twp., Indiana Co., J. Q. A. Barrett, of Co. K, 155th Reg't. P. V., in the 23d year of his age. Mr. Barrett's death was caused by a wound received on the sixth day's action, after crossing the Rappahannock, a rifle ball baring his skull at the back part of his head. Being disqualified for service, he obtained a furlough for forty days and returned home, where, on the 3d inst., surrounded by kind, but sorrowful friends, he died the death of the righteous. Mr. B. was a young man of sterling worth. For more than two years he had been a member of the Presbyterian church of Smicksburg, always consistent, at home and abroad, in peace and in war...
